What is the degree classification for the MSc in Modern Japanese Studies?
The degree classification is based on the five (or four in the case of second-year MPhils) components that are assessed: the dissertation, the research methods course, the option papers about Japan, and the Japanese language paper if taken.
Equal weight is given to each component of the degree programme.
A student must pass all papers with a mark of 50 or over to be eligible for the degree.
