We are pleased to announce Sasakawa studentships (each worth £10,000) will be available for postgraduate students in Japanese studies from October 2014. The studentships are open to students of any nationality, but applications from UK nationals are particularly encouraged.

Mr Ian Rapley will be joining us as Postdoctoral Teaching Associate for the academic year 2013-2014. He is completing his DPhil in modern Japanese history and prior to that he was a student on the MPhil in Modern Japanese Studies programme.
The University has three main application deadlines for 2014-2015: 22 November 2013; 24 January 2014 and 14 March 2014.
The Japanese Language Proficiency Tests are held at SOAS, University of London. The JLPT July 2013 test will be held on Sunday 7th July 2013. The test will close to applications on Friday 12th April, 2013.
