The Sasakawa Fund Scholarships - Faculty of Oriental Studies

Awards will be available to students who have been accepted by the University to undertake a graduate degree in October 2017 or who are currently undertaking such a course. The scholarships will be awarded to applicants who are Japanese nationals currently on a course or starting a course at Oxford University, or alternatively to students from the UK or other countries currently on a course or starting a course at Oxford University, which requires some period of study in Japan. The awards of up to £10,000, will be made for one year in the first instance and may be renewed for a maximum of three years, subject to satisfactory progress.

  • Please note that Grant Applications MUST be submitted NO LATER than Friday of 4th Week in any term for consideration later that term.
  • Travel Grants to Japan for research/study. To apply, please complete the Small Grant Form.
  • Scholarships towards study at the University of Oxford - currently, £7,500 p.a. (from 2017-18, this will increase to £10,000 p.a.). To apply, please complete the Scholarship Application Form.
