Departmental Lecturer in Japanese International Relations/Politics

We are currently looking for a Departmental Lecturer in Japanese International Relations/Politics based at the Nissan Institute of Japanese Studies, University of Oxford, 27 Winchester Road, Oxford

Salary:  £32,817 - £40,322 p.a.

Hours:   Full Time

Contract Type:  Fixed-Term/Contract for three years from 1st October 2020

Applications are invited for the position of Departmental Lecturer in Japanese International Relations/Politics which is available from 1 October 2020 (or as soon as possible thereafter) to 30 September 2023.

You will be expected to lecture, tutor and supervise students on the MSc and MPhil in Japanese Studies, and on the BA programme in Japanese Studies, including in Research Methods. You will be required to produce lecture notes, course materials, reading lists, and reference guides as required by the programme. You will engage in assessment and University examining for the Japanese Studies programme and manage your own academic research activities, conduct independent research and develop scholarship in areas relevant to the Japanese Studies programmes. Japanese Studies are seeking an inspirational teacher and researcher with both breadth and depth of knowledge in Japan's international relations, preferably of East Asia and/or politics, and who will become a fully active member of the department.
