Dr. Akira Shah's new article, "Minoritizing Identity: Imposing Racial & Cultural Illusions of 'The Japanese'" has been published Open Access in Japan Forum at the British Association for Japanese Studies.
The paper theorizes a sociological process for minoritization by drawing on lived experiences of those branded 'foreigners,' 'biracials,' and 'returnees' in Japan.
