Prize winners of the 28th Sir Peter Parker Awards for Spoken Business Japanese

We are pleased to announce that two former students of the MSc/MPhil in Modern Japanese Studies were prize winners at the 28th Sir Peter Parker Awards for Spoken Business Japanese this year.

First Prize winner: Mr Richard Brash (Postgraduate, University of Edinburgh) Unity in Diversity 

Second Prize winner: Miss Chiara Comastri (Postgraduate, Osaka University) Do we really want foreigners? Doubts and contradictions in the Japanese companies’ hiring system 

Third Prize winner: Mr Warren Stanislaus (Postgraduate, University of Oxford) Lessons from London: Unlocking Japan’s tourism industry potential for 2020 and beyond

Special Prize winner: Ms Jiaang Zhao (Postgraduate, University of Birmingham) When in Japan, do as Japanese do? --- The ‘chowa’ between localization and uniqueness of overseas enterprises in Japan
